The concept of Filadelfio's Restaurant & Bar came from a trip to New York by the original owner, a Kiwi very experienced in the hospitality industry. He sampled the delicious gourmet pizzas, relaxed in the quirky New York styled bar and sampled the excellent wines and ales on offer, and knew he was on to a winner! So, in true Kiwi entrepreneurial style, he returned to Dunedin and opened Filadelfio's Restaurant & Bar at 3 North Road in 1995. Such was the success of the business; he was soon able to employ a manager to run it, while he searched for more business opportunities and enjoyed the profits that rolled in.

New business opportunities did arise, and in 1998 Logan and Jo Beck purchased the business. Since then Jo and Logan have expanded the business into a franchise, with three restaurants currently operating and more planned for the future.

Filadelfio's can make anyone feel at home, from the quirky student population of down-south, to the warm family atmosphere. With quotes like these ones, the food and service speaks for itself.

We have the proven "recipe for success", having operated the business in Dunedin since December 1998. Our first franchise was set up in Christchurch in 2002, and has consistently exceeded budgeted turnover and profitability. Since then there have been two new restaurants opened - in Dunedin at the Terminus, which opened in May 2004, and Oamaru, which opened in July 2006. Jo and Logan are always looking for opportunities for other people to join in on the franchise and more will be definitely planned for the future, after all everyone loves pizza and beer.
